When One Door Closes...

Seeing how my last few blog posts have been more uplifting, and more than anything they seem to be helping me be more positive, today will be another post similar to the previous two.

Today I want to share this:

I love the above quote, because it's helps convey the idea of another door opening when one closes in life. Sometimes it's too easy focusing on a loss, when we really need to keep moving forward. I was very guilty of that when I was laid off from my architecture job, and focusing on my loss surely did not help me move on from it. It is incredibly important that we move on from losses, or we might get stuck in a pool of negativity. That leads us nowhere fast. When faced with loss, we must look for that open door that's just waiting for us to cross its path.

One of the most important things I have learned lately, is to realize that we are exactly where we are supposed to be. It also doesn't hurt to remember that "what does not kill you, makes you stronger". Everything happens for a reason, and we must have faith that everything will work out for our good.

Keep looking for that open door in life, once you step through it there will be more. Remember, sometimes the first step is the biggest.

  4. I love this so much! I learned it the hard way too - when I was laid off 2 years ago. I felt guilty as well, and kept wondering what I had done wrong. In the end, it was for the best because it opened the door to a great company, and an amazing two years of experience.

It's funny because I am actually starting a new job this week, and thinking this way has made leaving my current job much easier :)

I try to apply this way of thinking into everything...because it is too easy to get caught up in the moment, and not look at the bigger picture.

    Xoxo :)

  7. I love this "When faced with loss, we must look for that open door that's just waiting for us to cross its path." We have to keep our eyes open to new beginnings and experiences. And we have to have faith knowing that we are exactly where we need to be.
    Happy weekend love! :)

  8. Just came across your blog and I'm now following you on Twitter. I too am from Michigan!

Love this post and that quote. While cliche, it's very true and great words to live by and remember especially when going through hard times.
