If there is a quote that helps to explain happiness, then this is one of them.
Many people say that actions speak louder than words, but I think words speak pretty loudly if you use the right ones. Your thoughts are kept from others, that is, unless you share them with others. Your actions stem from your thoughts and the things that you say, so to me, actions don't always speak louder. People who impress me the most probably (since I'm not in their heads) start with positive thoughts, and that leads to kind words, and eventually their thoughts morph into their actions. Our thoughts, words, and actions are all connected. We must be careful what we think... because thoughts could lead you places you never meant them to lead you.
That whole "practice what you preach" thing really goes into effect here. If you find yourself giving people great advice, but not taking it, then I think this applies. I am definitely working on this. Something that bothers me, is when I realize that I've just done something that I said I would not do. I hope that my thinking, saying, and doing will be one in the same!
Wouldn't it be great to only think good & positive thoughts throughout the day? Sometimes it is hard to do, but imagine if you did.
I am with you-- that is why I am trying to give up all negative words during Lent season.
ReplyDeleteit has been tough!!
REALLLLY TOUGH!
I really like this post and completely agree. It's sometimes tough to think positive at all times but knowing that our thoughts play major roles in our words and actions helps me to realize that it starts with renewing the mind. It is a purposeful step that we must take to stay on a positve track. I'm not always successful but it's posts like this that can help keep our eyes on the goal of positive thinking.

Ugggh! What a daily issue with me... To be honest I think I have pretty nice thoughts, but what comes out of my mouth can be so negative and contaminating!! INSTANTLY I'm wishing I had took a deep breath and thought through things before speaking. Gah... no one's perfect but your post is a nice reminder!! :-)
ReplyDeleteLove your little blog! Can't wait for the next post!

You are completely right! And I'm a firm believer that positive thoughts (as well as a positive attitude) are contagious!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny because for me it usually comes through songs - I will be working with music in the background, and a certain song will come on and immediately, the lyrics put a smile on my face - can't beat that!
Ps...I'm so glad I found your blog! I love it :)
This would be great! Everyone would be so happy!
ReplyDeleteLove the quote at the top.
I'm totally with you girl--I wish I could have a day like that! I loved this quote from you: "words speak pretty loudly if you use the right ones." SO TRUE. Happy Wednesday! xoxo {av}
