Gratitude Journal

This year I am on a mission to become a more happy and healthy person. Not to mention, I just want to become a better person... each and every day. Yeah, there will probably be setbacks every once in a while, but that is inevitable. Life holds ups and downs, but I want to change how I deal with them. That means practicing gratitude every day and complaining less.

I read Simple Abundance: A Daybook of Comfort and Joy, by Sarah Ban Breathnach, every night before I go to bed. Last month there was an entry that talked about the importance of practicing gratitude, and she introduced the gratitude journal. I started one that day, and I've been writing in it ever since.

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow."
