Pumpkin Spice Latte Envy

Lately I've been reading quite a few blog posts mentioning Pumpkin Spice lattes and cooler weather, and I have to admit that I'm a tad jealous. (That may be the understatement of the year.) Yes, I have access to my fair share of Starbucks, but the hot and humid weather in Florida is unfortunately not in my control. If it was, I would drop temps into the 65-70 degree range and enjoy a Pumpkin Spice latte without having a hot flash. I might even bust out a sweater and wear it outside for longer than it takes me to walk from my car into work.... but I'm not bitter. Nope.

Since we're still suffering through enjoying hot and sweaty summer weather here in Florida, I thought I'd put together a virtual outfit that I'd like to wear once the weather cools off a bit. Pumpkin Spice lattes may be out of the question when it's "hot as hades" outside, but pumpkin-orange colored tops just might do the trick in quelling my fall jealousy. Until I can sip on hot drinks again, without wanting to rip off all my clothes and hop in a pool full of ice water, I will spend my time fantasizing about favorite fall outfits.

I could really use a wardrobe update.
What are you loving when it comes to your fall wardrobe?

  2. I'm a knitter, and as much as I'd love to live in Florida I think it'd kill that hobby. Plus I like changing seasons.

I am very excited for jeans and boots!

  3. When I was living in Florida, my best friend mailed me a padded envelope full of fall leaves from up north. The outside of the envelope said to open and then shake the contents out. I really missed the seasons changing but I absolutely loved the mail! :)

  4. Maybe you can get an iced pumpkin spice latte? (I don't like pumpkin... and that sounds a little bit yuck but just a thought? hahah)

  5. First things first, those shoes are amazing! I need those. And So Cal is hot too! One day it's cool and rainy so I pull out all the fall clothes and the next day it's 99 degrees again :(

  6. I'm actually jealous of your warm weather. Because it'll be perfect fall weather soon enough for you and it'll last all through the winter. While our fall weather will soon be gone and replaced by snow and bitter cold. Boo. Love the outfit.

  7. I love my pumpkin spice lattes but it's been near 100 degrees everyday this week and I just cannot drink them! I went last week to get one (when it was only in the 80s) and the guy actually asked me if I wanted it iced. I said, "What's the point?" and I took my warm latte back to my cold office. I wish I could enjoy my warm latte outside but for now, the cranked up AC in my office building will have to do!

  11. Hey Janette... to answer your question: "have I always lived in FL?":

I have NOT always lived in the Sunshine State. I actually spent most of my life in Michigan. I grew up in northern Michigan and went to college in Ann Arbor. Both locations taught me that winters in Michigan aren't exactly my cup of tea (or most people's for that matter). I lived out in Denver, CO for almost the past 5 years... and the winters there were much more mild but I missed the water. Lakes and rivers are my friend! Now my husband and I find ourselves in Florida, and we're very much shocked by the hot and humid summer.

So long answer short, no I have not always lived in a hot climate like Florida.... and I think my husband and I both are pretty much ready for fall as we know it haha. (:

  15. Honestly, I am so tired of hearing (reading about) people and their ps lattes. I can't imagine being you and not even being able to at least enjoy one...without sweating. We'll try to send some CO cool your way (not that it's cold out...but, it will probably snow tomorrow...you know the drill : )

  16. I am not much of a fan of pumpkin flavored stuff, but I feel your pain. We had ONE weekend of cooler weather and it's hot again. It's a 100 degrees out. I don't know how much longer I can't this. So jealous of all these bloggers wearing boots and scarves!
