Closet Freak

I hope no one is reading this with anything sexual in mind, because it's really far from that. I'm talking about being a freak when it comes to the clothes in my closet people! This girl might have a major tiny obsession with keeping things in the closet perfectly in place as organized as possible.

I'm pretty sure that my time working retail, yeah I worked at good old A&F, has ruined me forever... in a good way though. Spacing hangers, hanging my jeans, and folding perfect stacks of tee shirts are some of my favorite things to do! Ha. Okay maybe they aren't my favorite things to do with my free time, but I do put effort into those things when it comes to our closet and dressers. It's in my blood. I can't help it. Perfectionist much?! Anyone else this crazy about keeping an organized closet?

Moving sometimes wreaks havoc on my o.c.d. tendencies. I'm one of those people who really likes to have everything come out of the suitcases, with no wrinkles in them, after moving, and man is that tough! We're packing everything in our apartment, and I try to pack as neatly as possible. Packing neatly. Is that an oxymoron or what?! Either way, it's a little sad packing away our neatly spaced closet, at least my side of the closet. If my husband had his way, we'd just throw (literally) all of our clothes into tubs and be done with it. Not happening, honey. Nope.

anyone else notice the pink hanger...
he must have hijacked that one! Grrr. I still love him though.

Hopefully wherever we move to next has a closet that's big enough for my our stuff. The first closet that we 'shared' was just big enough for one of us to be in it at a time. Somehow we both made it out of that situation alive. Sometimes being a closet freak makes it difficult to get along with the husband when it comes to organizational matters. We're working on it. (:

  1. ugh, I hate our closet. I'm sure one day we will have one that is kind, but this one spits my clothes back at me (the top shelf often has avalanches). I don't envy your moving, but at least it is on to bigger and better :)

  2. Ha! "His side" looks like my side! I have to say I'm the messier one in my relationship- he is quite ocd about having hangers and clothes face the same way! And with packing (at least for a trip), he does it, because I'm a thrower too!

    Good luck with your move!

  4. Haha girl, we are too much alike!! I HAVE to use the same kinds of hangers, and I HAVE to have coordinating colors and like tops next to each other. Been there, done that, on the retail side. I was an assistant manager for 1yr in college. That screwed me up for life.. ;)

  5. I am just about as bad as you and not only in my closet but in his and son's too. I color coordinate mine but not theirs. I know a little OCD - I color coordinate his t-shirts in his drawer.

  6. I am definitely a closet freak! I just posted about my closet not too long ago. My clothes are all lined up in color and I use white/green/pink hangers. (From my college days) My hubby always tries to sneak a weird colored hanger in there! UGH!!

  7. This made me laugh out loud, cause I'm the same exact way!!! I am totally OCD about my closet. All my hangars match, and all clothes are organized by color ant type. Great minds think alike. ;)

  8. I am SO OCD about my closet organization! Our closet right now is really small so I try to let it go for now. But at one apartment we had a good sized one and I was in heaven!
