The title of this blog post could also read "Most Bloggers Are Nice".
Recently I've read a few things on Twitter and blogs
that have made me very disappointed in social media.
Social media makes it very easy for people to spew hate and spread negativity. These things often spread like wildfire. Fortunately the positive side of social media is having the ability to build friendships, connections, and spread positive messages. With the ability to reach so many people with the use of our fingertips on a keyboard, we must think twice (or even three times) about what we write. What we choose to share with others, via the Internet, is a reflection of our lives outside of cyberspace. It's our choice how we use social media. Do you want to cause heartache and stress, or do you want to be a light in another person's life?
It's your choice.
Even though social media does have its downsides, there is much to love. There are so many great things about blogging that I am only beginning to learn about and understand. I've had the opportunity to 'meet' some really sweet people who blog and share their lives and passions with others. I've even met three bloggers in real life. My favorite bloggers are very real, loving and caring towards others, and never afraid to share their perfectly imperfect lives. They're quite like the people I prefer spending time with in real life. Funny how that works. It's almost like looking in a mirror. If you learn about yourself and the things you love, there's this gravitation towards more of the same.
This leaves me to remind you that not all bloggers are mean;
just like not all real people are mean.
There's a lot of kindness out there.
Sometimes you just need to wade through hate and seek out the love.

Speaking of kindness, tomorrow I'm going to share with you
If you haven't had the pleasure of meeting my sweet friend Alisha,
love that post,u r so right !
ReplyDeleteThat's so true, Ashley! We have to focus on the people that we are nice and not care about the negative ones. They have their own problems!
ReplyDeleteI heart you, this post and Alisha! You are such a sweet blog friend/real life friend (woop woop) to me. So thankful for that. I adore that quote by Mark Twain...it is SO good and true. We should be spreading kindness in love in everything and everywhere we go! xoxoxoxo
ReplyDeleteWait, was someone mean to you?? Who was it? I'll beat 'em up for ya!! :)
ReplyDeleteYou're right. Just like in real life, sometimes we come across some ugliness here in the blogosphere. Good and evil exists in every aspect of this world. I've learned that.
ReplyDeleteAww, who's being mean? Let me at them. I'll set 'em straight! Ha! :) It breaks my heart when people use something meant for good and turn it into something ugly.
ReplyDeleteI heart you, friend!! Hope you're having a wonderful week! :)
xoxo
You know Ashley we've been so lucky to have such met such positive people through our blog. Nothing negative so far (cross your fingers it stays that way)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad we met you through Alisha. You're such a sweet person, we would love to do a Blogger Meet Up someday. Florida's lookin' pretty good :)
xx Libby
ha! I feel like this should be a whole series! Not all bloggers are...confident...looking for followers...proficient at photoshop...pregnant...ohh the list!!
ReplyDeletelove it!! spread the love :)
ReplyDeleteI meant to comment earlier on this post but read it on my phone so it's hard to comment from it... Anyway, great post! And, so true. I've come across some mean girls since blogging and have really been disappointed by them. I've learned to focus on all of the great, true and wonderful connections that I've made. No need to let the meanies ruin our experiences.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree! There are some absolute sweethearts in the blog world!!
