Nate and I ran (and by ran I mean drove) to the store to get some hot chocolate to enjoy on our beautiful snowy day. Hopefully it just keeps snowing.... and snowing...
We have a powdery white ground cover and it looks like the pool maintenance guys covered up the pool just in time today for this winter weather. Now I can't stop thinking about snowboarding, sledding with my cousin... and just plain enjoying the snow being around for a while.
I will never forget when I moved here 3 years ago from Michigan, how enjoyable the crazy blizzards were the winter of 2006-07. I'm not sure I've ever seen that much snow in one place before!

It's no exaggeration to say that we got 3 feet of snow one weekend and the next weekend we got 3 more feet, and it went on like that for what seemed like an entire month or two. The Denver International Airport shut down over Christmas... stranding tons of unfortunate travelers over the holiday. My aunt cooked delicious meals when we were stuck in the house for days on end. No joke... the plows never made it to the street I lived on, so there was no venturing out unless it was by foot or cross country ski. I loved every moment of it! Needless to say, my cousin and I took advantage of her multiple snow days, and we built a sweet "luge run" in the side yard. This thing had 3 foot side walls to keep you on it's twisting path, but the real excitement came when you plowed through the bottom of the path into an open field where you ran into the one pine tree down there (there was never anything you could do to avoid it) and pinecones rained down onto you! Yeeeah! We even got my aunt out there to give it a try too. That was one snow-filled winter.
I think every time it snows in Denver I keep wanting it to be the same as that first winter I spent here. What a special time! Guess I'll just have to keep making amazing memories and have some adventures this winter to try and top the winter of 06 and it's never ending blizzards. Maybe with a little something special we'll get tons and tons of snow this winter too. One can hope. With that said... I know it's only October and my family and friends in Michigan probably don't want to hear this yet, but "let it snow, let it snow, let it snow" :)
